Constant lumps - exclusively expressing

Post by missute09 » Wed Mar 21, 2018 9:23 pm

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum but have enjoyed reading other people’s experiences and tips.

My baby is 3 weeks old and I attempted to breastfeed but due to severe nipple pain I could not continue. I exclusively pump and bottle feed my baby EBM only.

I am having a lot of difficulties expressing atm. I am constantly getting lumps which decreases my milk supply. I am still on antibiotics due to having mastitis 4days ago. I need advice on the lumps as they are constant.

I had a breast ultrasound when pregnant due to a maternal aunt having breast cancer and I was found to
Have fibrocystic breast changes and many cysts in both of my breasts. I must follow this up again 6 months post birth.
I am wondering if this is contributing to my constant breast lumps...

I express 6-7 times a day and roughly get 100ml-150ml in total from both breasts each session.

Any tips and advice is truly appreciated.
