Well done Claire, you are amazing!

I have heard that babies with reflux sometimes have to hold off on solids, as can make it worse. Best to get some medical advice on that though.

Just thought I'd update this thread one more time...

After a very rocky start to breastfeeding we have made it to 1 year! So very excited to get here. Things are going quite well with the breastfeeding now and DD really loves it. I really love feeding a toddler - much more fun than a newborn, so I figure it is only going to get better from here.

Although the breastfeeding is going well, the solid feeding is pretty dismal. DD has not taken to solids. Until 3 weeks ago she would not put anything in her mouth at all. Not sure what her aversion to food is about but we are trying to work through it with a dietician and will be going to a gastroenterologist soon. Her main reflux stopped a few months ago but I think she still gets silent reflux, but at least she is not crying all day like she used to. I cant help thinking that its uncomfortable for her to eat so she doesnt. Of course she cant tell us what's going on.

She is not on the weight charts at all and is starting to fall down further, not gaining any weight this month. Her iron levels are so low they are 1 point off a deficiency, so she is on supplements.

She has multiple food allergies and seems to be very sensitive to new things as well, taking a while for her system to get used to it. Eg, she has been on the iron supplements for 3.5 months but it is only the last 2 weeks that she is starting to tolerate it without getting a severe nappy rash. And when she first started on wheat she would get constipated but seems ok now. At least I know that she's having breastmilk and that that is good for her poor gut. So glad that I perservered with it.

We are half way to a WHO baby! Happy birthday my beautiful girl. :smt113 :smt060
My two DC blessings:
DS born early @ 26 wks bf 3 years 1 day
DD bf 3 years 2 months.

:-D awesome - thanks for the update
so glad the breastfeeding is going well, it took some time and effort - great achievement. I hope the solids are simply a matter of time too, and that it takes a quicker time to settle with each new thing.
