How, when and why to introduce foods other than breastmilk

Ds2 enjoyed half an avocado for dinner tonight... Mixed with some milk and some on a cruskit to suck on... Pretty descent dinner for a 7 month old yes? Mil said to me... Is that all he's having :shock: Would you give a 7 month old more? I thought that was quite a lot..??.. I replied with he's getting BM too of course!!

I didn't really even start my two on solids consistently until they were nearly 8 months so yep would have been more than they were having at that age.
