Let Sleeping Babes Lie?

Post by Jenbt85 » Mon Aug 10, 2015 7:20 am

DD is 7 weeks tomorrow and is going through a patch of amazing sleep. I'm appreciating it for as long as it lasts! During the day, we have periods of cluster feeding and are feeding on demand - I have no idea how frequently as I just feed without thinking. Output is good, nappies suggest she is drowning in milk.

This week, she's been doing one 4/5 hour stretch overnight and then 2-3 hourly thereafter. Last night she went to sleep around 8:30 and only woke at 4:00 for a feed, so about 7.5 hours.

Please tell me I don't have to set alarms to feed and that it's not harming her to just let her sleep and go that long without a feed? If (when) she becomes more wakeful at night, my supply would adjust right?

By writing this, I know I'm ending the good spell of sleep :D

No need to wake a sleeping baby if all signs indicate they are getting plenty of milk.

Enjoy the sleep while it lasts (I really hope you haven't jinxed it by posting  )

Exactly what I wanted to hear :D

This absolutely won't last, but I'm going to maximise my sleep while it does.

*whispers* we're down to one brief waking per night. I haven't been this rested in years!
