Hey Lu

I'd suggest searching for gluten-free vegan recipes. There are loads around since this is a combination of two current dietary trends. I look for them a lot because we are vego and Oobiwoo is allergic to eggs - I put the dairy back in  You'll find lots of things that you could eat on the side of a piece of meat if that is your inclination.

Are you after sweets, savouries, a cake for an upcoming party, just what to put on the dinner table every night?

Not recipes per se, but happy to give suggestions. What foods do you like generally and do you have foods (beyond fructose) that you avoid? Maybe we can suggest some substitutes to go in your regular meals?

A few ideas:

Gf/df/ef pancakes

Fruit salad

Gf/df/ef cereals with df milk

Gf toast with avocado, lemon juice and black pepper / topping of your choice

Jacket potato with dairy free margerine and tuna/bolognese/salad/curry/mixed beans/baked beans

Curry and rice

Chilli with rice

Chicken, corn and zoodle (zucchini noodles for pasta) soup

Risotto with gf stock and meat/veggies of your choice

Carob brownie (gf flour)

Thai flavour veggie rice (I make this, can pm you if you fancy)

Salads

Roast dinners with gf gravy

Shepherd's pie with gf gravy

Carrot sticks with hommus

Rice crackers (check they are dairy free if flavoured)

Frozen banana blended for pretend ice cream

You can also make "naughty" foods like home made oven chips with burgers - use lettuce or cabbage leaves for the buns. You can buy gf dough to make pizza bases, though you might miss the dairy.

I'm not huge on rice milk but almond is nice if you're ok with nuts.

Gf bread is best eaten toasted in my experience. I buy an everything free cereal.

I *love* thinking about this stuff and matching what people like to eat with new dietary requirements.

You can buy df chocolate.

Ah ha.

Rice pudding made on almond milk with whatever sweetener you are able to have - make a big pot at the start of the week and serve for snacks through the week instead of yoghurt.
Shepherds pie - meat or lentils in the base and margarine in the potato topping.
Stir fry with whatever veg you can have with rice or rice noodles.
Big salad with chickpeas or beans and some kind of seeds for protein.
Hummus!

Lentils, veg curries, fried rice, stir fry veggies or stir fry noodles, baked potato topped with salad and steamed veg and even coconut milk yogurt.

Thanks.

I can't have curries though as I am allergic to turmeric.
I should say I am allergic to cinnamon and ginger too. Haha

You could leave the tumeric out?
Also some tomato or capsicum based pasta sauce with gf pasta? I often mince a whole bunch of veg in the blender, like a veg bolognaise. Then just fry veg mixture. Only takes a free minutes to cook and turn add passata or capsicum based sauce. If you want it creamy you could try making some almond milk white sauce.

Corn based foods like homemade Nachos, Tacos etc are good for us (one of my children has Coeliac so needs to eat gluten-free). Can be made with a variety of meat or veg sauce /salsa and lots of fresh shredded veg. Same with baked potatoes (in our family tradition we call them 'dinosaur eggs') - big baked potatoes with lots of nice fillings. easy enough to make a guacamole that meets your dietary needs, if you can have avocadoes. Add beans to improve the protein content.

Oh, and have you discovered Thai Chicken Soup - Tom Kha Gai - wow.... the layers of flavour are amazing... basically thai coconut curry soup ...you'd definitely have to make it yourself to fit your allergy limitations... coconut milk is amazing!

I went to Thailand this year for the first time - coconut ice cream, sticky rice with mango and coconut cream....yum!
