Linen Tea Towels

Post by SadiesMum » Mon Mar 21, 2016 7:33 pm

Hey domestic and sewing goddesses
I have accumulated quite a number of linen tea towels from my mum and MIL.
I think they are lovely but what to do with them? Too good for the kitchen.
I was thinking of sewing a few tote bags for the girls in my life...well it'll probably end up just being one for me but I can dream.
They are all new/unused.
Should I be washing them before sewing?

Definitely - linen shrinks like crazy. It will soften up a lot with the first few washes and with use too.

Little blouses with cut on sleeves if the prints are suitable, or skirts?

I love the idea of tote bags!

But I disagree with the idea of them being too good for the kitchen. I enjoy using nice things to do mundane jobs when I can :-)
