New solo mum by choice

For many reasons, some mothers find themselves being the sole parent of
their child or children. This category is for those who may be full time
solo parents or for those whose partners work away from home for extended
periods of time, and for every solo parenting situation in between!

New solo mum by choice

Post by rivkahali » Wed Feb 29, 2012 7:07 pm

Hi there,

I've been visiting the forums often over the past few months so I thought it was about time I introduced myself here. I'm a 37 yo Sydneysider with a beautiful donor conceived son born in October last year.

So far in our breastfeeding journey we've faced blocked ducts mastitis, reflux, low supply and generally fussy feeding. Slowly, and with many tears and a few laughs too, we've been working through these issues.

Choosing to be an SMC is both the hardest and most worthwhile thing I've done in my life. Looking forward to getting to know other solo/single bf mums here and sharing in supporting each other :)

No longer feeding, her choice. You can lead a baby to the breast but you can't make it drink !

Hi there!
I am a SMC too. Best. Decision. Ever. I have two - age 6 and 19 months. It is challenging, much harder with 2 than with 1 (like more than twice as hard!).

Noticed that your sig says Bec - is your full name Rivkah (from your user name). I love, love, love that name. Was on my list of baby names, but dont know if I could have used it as I know someone called that and people may have thought I named a baby after her - she is very lovely though, so I could cope with that!

Welcome to the forum!
My two DC blessings:
DS born early @ 26 wks bf 3 years 1 day
DD bf 3 years 2 months.

You were very lucky sometimes IUI does not work on the first attempt.

Your name sounds familiar were you on Belly Belly many years ago?
