Hi Vixen,

Not me personally but I know of a couple who TTC for around 6 years. 1 miscarriage, tests on both sides as far as Im aware came back ok. They fell pregnant late last year and just had their first baby boy a few weeks ago.

TTC is quite an emotional rollercoaster. Have you been working with a specialist or GP to work out whats happening and what the next steps are for you?

Hi vixen. I tried for about a year then we had a few tests that were inconclusive so we went straight to ivf. I'm afraid I wasn't very patient! We have since had two natural pregnancies, with one successful outcome :)

Good luck! Have you seen a fertility specialist?

Hi :D

It took us a year to conceive DS, I went down the road of seeing a nutritionist to get my health optimal, acupuncture and Chinese and Western herbs. Traditional Chinese Medicine takes a different approach to Western medicine and there are a lot of success stories from women that have "unexplained infertility". It might be worth looking into if you haven't already. Feel free to pm me if you'd like more info, I'm happy to explain the idea behind how it works.

I can recommend a book: "the natural way to better babies" by Francesca naish. It is australian, and pretty old now,but I remember it had lots of components to go through to increase your chances...

If you do not mind me asking, what testing has been done so far?

Hi there,

Unexplained infertility can be stressful and confusing. I took about 17 months to conceive my second but there was some explanation for it.

Have you been to a fertility specialist at all?

DH and I had a very long road to DD and an even longer one to the baby about to be born. There were some issues though.
DH had a reversal of a vasectomy so we could TTC a child. He ended up with high anti-sperm antibodies (ASA) - these can be present in men who have had trauma to their testes or vas deferens. It was also discovered that I had endometriosis - the only way to diagnose endometriosis is via exploratory surgery. Once I had the endo removed we conceived very quickly a number of times, but lost the pregnancies in first trimester. DD was our 5th pregnancy.
My cycle did not return until DD was 18 months old - we tried since that time and I had given up, until I fell pregnant unexpectedly after over 3 years of trying. We had another sperm analysis in March last year and there were no longer any ASA, so we just thought it was because we were getting older that no pregnancy was happening.
Infertility is awful, I have had acupuncture, read fertility books, seen fertility specialists and generally struggled with the whole deal. If you want to ask about any of the strategies I've tried feel free.
