Heya justly reied to your other thread... Yes you can definately get pregnant of you are ovulating. Some women (like me) have to seriously cut back or even wean to trigger ovulation, which is why you will hear lots of stories of people who couldn't (of course, lots of women start ovulating/get their period back early, and can get pregnant while still breastfeeding a lot).

Good luck!

Hi there, as Snake Hips mentioned in the other thread, if you are having your period and ovulating than yes, you can get pregnant. Lactation (including expressing) can stop periods/ovulation from starting. But if you are having your period, and especially if ovulation tests are coming back positive, then you're good to go!

If u can possibly wait til your due date it's better! Then at least you know the result will be accurate. It's hard to be patient though!

Ok I admit I tested a few days early! I felt sick in the car, then still felt sick 2 hours later. So I tested and sure enough...

But I still advocate that waiting is the sensible thing to do!

Good luck! I'd (try) to wait and do another test on Sunday if that's when your period is due. Fingers crossed for you.

Hi Tinkerbell, what I did when I was trying to conceive was track my basal temperature. You can read about how to do it from websites like this one. It does take a lot of commitment - you have to check your temperature every single morning as soon as you wake up, and it can take a few months before you really understand your individual temperature patterns.

I think there are tests that check saliva hormone levels too, you could look into that.

Good luck! But try to be patient, pregnancy tests won't work until something like 10 days after conception.

I'm not a health professional but I have heard that while lactating some women can have high prolactin levels and this can prevent ovulation (which you are sure isn't a problem for you) and some women can have low progesterone levels and this can prevent successful implantation even if conception does successfully occur.

Hi tinkerbell , not sure if a bloods test will help. Have a chat with your HP they should be able to assist.
