Group Library Audit and Listing

Post by Feebes » Thu Mar 26, 2015 11:26 pm

I am doing an audit of our group library, exciting stuff! It will go towards one of my assessment tasks. :-)

When you chuck books (there's a lot to be chucked as some of them have reached the 10 year mark and much older), do you keep a record of that on the listing that they've been chucked, or just delete it from the records and be done with it?

its probably good to note which ones you are getting rid of but you dont need to list it on the one that goes into your assessment.

On a side note - what format or programme is your current library list in? All of the EOFY stuff is now uploaded to the website as of last year. the group eqiupment register is done on an excel sheet so if you are going to do it, you may as well chuck it straight into the correct format so the group can keep it and check it at the EOFY.

You do need to keep a record of the ones that you have chucked. This is because the group library list goes on the reports, so when you fill in your list of assets once a year, you can mention that these are no longer in the group library because they have been discarded, rather than being lost :)
