Ameda purely yours. Basic vs ultra

Has anyone got the ultra? At the bags and extras really worth $100+?

This is a closed pump isn't it?

Yes it is closed. I have the ultra thanks to Esther who got it on sale and passed it on to me when she'd finished. :smt060

I don't think I'd pay extra. The bag is massive. I doubt I'll use it tbh. The cool bag is good but i have something similar from when i pumped last time with a manual pump.

I think I'll transport it in a back pack rather than the hand bag type thing it comes with.

If you can have a look at it before you buy it that might help you decide.

I think I might go GULP Southside today and check it out while they are 20% off.

I have plenty of cool bags already. I even got one for Christmas where the walls of the cool pack have the ice packs built in - lol my first though was how good that would be for EBM! I doubt I'd use the car adaptor much/ at all.

Unless you like big bulky handbags you're probably better off with the basic version. I doubt esther woukd have paid the extra if it hadn't been heavily discounted. But she may disagree with me when she sees the thread.

So the 20% must be online only, shop isn't open today. Glad I checked. Not sure what the postage would be.

With 49 more days of sales to come, I wonder if I should buy today or wait?

The price was good. It also came with all the extra sizes of flanges, which wad helpful to experiment. Handbag massive, but I didn't really have anything else to put it in, having a violin on my back most days as well. If you wanted to, you could prolly fit most things you needed for the day in the bag. But I'm not organised!

Your choice. Was a good pump and I found it more flexible than some if the medela pumps as I could control speed and suction (wring words, but best I can come up with atm)

Happy shopping :-D

Hmmm, I can't decide if I should get it today or not. When I factor in postage and normal discount i will save $25 more if I buy it today than if I drove over another day and looked at twit in person.

I don't know about a list of sales. I suspect they have one, but not necessarily for public viewing. Would defeat the purpose?

I would guess that there will be a day where they have a discount on a pump. The question would be which one? My guess would be the medela double as they have been promoting that one more recently.
Fwiw, if you are likely to pump in the car, and have non standard size nipples (whatever that means to ameda) then it might be worth it, if you also like the cooler bag and the carry all). But as the pump comes with a battery option, and flanges in a different size are unlikely to cost $50, then the basic is probably worth it (as you've said you already have the other bits)
