I just wanted to share that at 7am this morning my 8 week old daughter and I shared our 500th breastfeed. In that time she has grown 8cm in length and 2kg in weight. What an awesome thing! Here's to the next 500.

Thanks ducks. I know cause I have an app that I use to keep track of dd feeds. I thought it might help to find a pattern or at least track her routine changes. It has a counter on it that counts feeds.

I cant even imagine twins monicat!

average length of time between feeds is 2 hours 15 mins...and average feed time is 15 mins...bit in the last few days her snacking feeds have become marathon feeds lasting 45ins to an hour. I look forward to comparing the next 500 feeds stats woth thw first 500...I love numbers.

I tried a couple of times to use those apps, but was totally crap at recording the data - I'd start the feed and forget to stop it, or forget to record the start of the feed. The data would be really interesting to analyse and graph though, particularly of your own experience!
And what great goal setting you could have - I want to feed 10 times, then 100, then 1000...and how long they take to achieve!

oh, and congratulations on making 500 feeds! :-D

Awesome work! I like that your app gives you a running count! The app I used didn't... But I did record every feed DS had.... I just checked the numbers on the spreadsheet that the app emailed me- in the 16 months that DS was breast fed he had 4340 feeds (well I think that would be 'sides' actually).

That's a lot. I wonder how many hours that is??!!

How many feeds are you up to now milkformouse? I'd be keen to hear your comparison after your next 500! :)
