Research on sharing breastmilk and breastfeeding

Post by mooki » Fri Jul 01, 2016 9:58 am

We are looking for women to participate in interviews to understand how breastmilk and breastfeeding are shared and contribute to infant feeding in Australia.

Each interview will focus on your experience of providing or using breastmilk through milk banks, social groups, the internet or by sharing breastfeeding. At the end of the interview you will be asked to complete a short survey about you and your household. The interview and survey will take about 1 hour to complete.
The study has been approved by the ABA Breastfeeding Information and Research team (ABA Research Approval Number: 2016-9) and the Australian National University Human Ethics Committee (Protocol: 2016/036).

To take part in the study you need to be aged 18 years or over and have given birth in Australia since March 2011 and shared breastmilk or breastfeeding. To acknowledge your help with this research, you will be offered a $20 shopping voucher at the time of the interview.

For more information or to participate in this study, please contact Libby Salmon, at the Australian National University by email at or phone 0434 087889.
