Oh dear.

I have nothing helpful to say, just that parenting this age group is really tough.

It seems a very unusual thing for a 12 yo to say - is there something she may have been exposed to (at school, scouts, friend's house) that isn't what fits in with your family values (and appropriateness for polite conversation)?

The friends she has been keeping at school are rather vulgar and we had a lengthy discussion about finding friends with better standards. We have since found out that she did not say this rather someone told this boy she had who in turn told his father and his father took it as gospel. Still it was a good example of why we believed such filth came out of her mouth and why her attitude and actions need to change. Gah this parenting gig is hard work
