First Trimester Discussion

way you feel comfortable? Discuss your desires, aims and ask your questions
of other Mums here. If you need medical advice, please ask your medical
adviser, we aren't qualified to help you in that department and our Code of

Had my first scan yesterday and it was so cool to see my little wriggly gummy bear!!
Already moving so much! It had a very strong & fast heartbeat and was waving at me with its little stumpy arm!
Im in love already. :smt007

Oh, and I have officially been diagnosed with HG. (like I didn't already know that!) but at least my OB has put me on strong medication to help ease the nausea. :-D

Well... I guess I belong in this section! We are thrilled to be almost 7 weeks pregnant. We were going to hold off on forum announcements until 12 weeks, but are too excited!! I have my first scan on the 17th (9 weeks). Twins are on both sides of my family and it's my generation having them... So watch this space! I feel like I'm showing already!

Woo hoo! Congratulations, Jen! BTW, twins don't skip a generation; the multi-ovulation thing can be carried by males or females but (obviously) only expressed in females. So a man might not have twins himself, but still pass the twin genes on to his daughters.

Interesting! Dad's mum is a fraternal twin. Potentially something else to blame Dad for ;)

Have you had bloods done yet, Jen? If your HCG levels are higher than usual, there is a good chance there's a pair in there. Also, you may need to be firm with the sonographer about looking properly for the (possible) second one...

I've had one set of blood tests but they get sent to my obstetrician and I won't get a chance to see her for two weeks. The scan is done by my ob at the 9 week visit and last time, they were good at thoroughly checking for two.

*Waves* :smt006

Just booked into the home birth program. :D

I'll be in this thread until end of Jan. Due early august, on the anniversary of liquid gold :-D

So far feeling good. I mean, it's only 14 do! I was nauseous this morning, but I've been nauseous on and off for the last 18 months. Did go out to buy some b6, we'll see.

Now I need to organise sandals so I can be bare feet, pregnant and living in a caravan

Ds is excited. I couldn't not tell him. Hopefully he doesn't tell everyone. Not talking to ex atm, so that's not an issue. I don't care. If things go wrong I'll need the support. I can't stand hiding stuff, especially happy stuff.

How's everyone else going?
