Thanks ladies! It was a quick birth, roughly 4 hours total, 2 hours of active labour. She was born at home in the birthing pool :D 3.5kg and 50cm.

Feeding going pretty average so far. Her attachment isn't great, when I can even get her to attach at all :? It's 5am here and I've spent the last 2 hours holding her while she brings up mucous, burps, vomits then screams  She seems to be quite windy and I think it might be related to her poor attachment. Any ideas oh wise ones?

Congratulations CN. :smt026 Welcome to the world little one :smt007 :smt007
We also had a rough start to breastfeeding here after a lovely home birth - turns out DD2 had an upper lip tie, which was released at 14 months old. I also suspect she has a very deep posterior tongue tie.

Some thoughts - breast crawl to work with her instincts - I'm assuming that after a home birth you've had loads of skin-to-skin time. Keep up the skin-to-skin remember it will help both of you with hormones keeping things calm. Baby wearing, cause even though she is little, she will get heavy. Your partner can help with this too to give you rest.
Syringe/finger feeding of colostrum - send partner/support person to the chemist for 5mL syringes.
Cup feeding too - we used a medicine glass and a shot glass.

An IBCLC who has been trained in oral assessment if things are still going pear shaped.
Never forgetting our angel babies
