Hi everyone! :smt006
Lachy is 5 weeks old now (due date was 3 days ago!) and we've spent 4 of the last 5 weeks in hospital.
We are finally home now and both on the mend!
My wound became very infected causing me to get blood poisoning and Lachy ended up catching RSV from the hospital.
He is definitely getting better though and is feeding like a champ! He's almost 3kg now and is finally fitting into his 0000 clothes!!
I'm suffering from pnd and am still struggling with the fact that I had to have a c-sect. I was so devastated that after 7 hours of full on labour, I only got to 4cm and had to go under the knife. The fact that it didn't heal well only added to my mental anguish about it. I begged my ob at the time, to just give me one more hour...but he had to get baby out. And I do understand that it was necessary but I was just so upset about it. We both had a nasty infection (Citrobacta Sepsis), as well as the placenta, and Lachlan was just getting too stressed.

I'm still not fully recovered from the CS and have been told it could take months to fully heal.
I look at my tiny little boy and am just so thankful he is alive and doing well. x

Oh gosh, that is a lot to deal with. I'm so sorry you've been through all that but glad you're home now and can start to move forward. I bet your other two kids are stoked to have you home!

wow! wishing you time to heal physically and emotionally and to enjoy your new little person. wishing you someone (or more than one...) to talk to when you need to to hear how it is for you. wishing that someone can cook you some awesome bone broths to heal your gut and bliss balls to give you energy. rest up and enjoy being home. take care of what you can and ask for help for the rest.

Oh, Chiggins! What a difficult and complicated experience! But you sound so positive. I hope you have lots of people around to help. I know you know this, but the more you can rest now the better it will be in the months to come. Please don't feel like you have to be super mum and get back to 'normal' quickly. Are you getting help for your mental health? Thanks for sharing with us. I hope debriefing here can be helpful. You are allowed to feel all the emotions you feel about what happened. Don't get caught up in how you 'should' be feeling. Everything you are feeling (even when it's contradictory!) is real and allowable!

So glad to hear DS2 is recovering and gaining weight. Hope the 'big' kids are doing well too!
