New Year - New Level of Fitness

Post by s squirrel » Mon Dec 31, 2012 6:40 pm

Rightio, so by my calculations it's 8w & 2d from new years to the end of Feb - the end of Summer
So, I'm putting it out there that I'm going to challenge myself to get a heck of a lot more fit this year.
And just because I can, I'm going to get rid of 10 pesky kilos in that period

Anybody want to join in, in a fitness challenge?
What do you want to achieve?
What are you aiming for?
If you can't fly, then run,
if you can't run, then walk,
if you can't walk, then crawl,
but whatever you do you have to keep moving

YES I'm with you - sorry about the shouting I'm just really excited to join you.

I want to loose at least another 4kg (ideally another 7) but mainly I want to make sure that I walk/jog/run/swim or go to the gym once a day for that period. I am going to get back into my good eating habits that I had before December (when I was loosing weight :? )

I really want to loose 2.5 in 2 1/2 weeks (by my birthday) but I know that's not really realistic. I did loose almost 10kg in 3 1/2 months but 1 1/2 found me again
DS1 - April 06
DS2 - August 08
DD - October 10

What other people think of me is none of my business.

Me too!! I lost about 14kgs but I know I've put some back on. I was feeling good having lost that & I can really feel what's back.

Aside from seeing the numbers go down, I challenge myself to some form of exercise daily. Even if its only 10 sit ups, that's fine. I just need to be active every day. And walk to school once a wk, starting in February.

Yep definitely me. I aim to do some exercise every day, and hopefully lose a minimum of 10kilos. I could do with losing more, but 10kg will do for now :)

Ladies, I've been having fun using two free apps called My Fitness Pal and Run Keeper to assist me in similar endeavours....thought might be of interest. I've been going well with them but it's only day 2!

Runkeeper is run. It tells you how far you have moved (run, walk cycle etc) how fast.

Not that drinking is an issue for me, but I'm going to see just how long I go without a drink - I don't need the extra calories and I don't need to spend the money on it either - it is all going to stay in the bank

I would like to get more fit. I don't have a specific plan though, just a few vague ideas about jogging or running, and swimming.

I also want to walk my daughter to school rather than drive.

I want to get fitter and stronger. I want to build on the running I've been doing. I finished c25k and can run for 30 mins but now I want to go faster and further. And for strength I'm going to get back into Pilates. I think I'll try for three times a week. But it's still only 2012 here, so I'll start tomorrow

I'm on the wagon too. My goals for this year are to lose weight (I'd like to get back into my healthy weight range - I've lost 5kg already, and still have 23 to go), to exercise for 30 minutes EVERY day (although I'm prepared to average that out over the year - so that's 30 minutes x 365 days), and I'm going to have a crack at 2013km, although I'm ambivalent (in a nice way) about that one.
DS1 born sleeping
DS2 BF 2y2m (using supply line)
DS3 BF 2y2m2w2d (because we like patterns - 9 months with SNS)
DS4 BF 3y10m3w4d (8 months with SNS)
