Book week!

Postby Mummy woo! » Sun Jun 04, 2017 11:57 am

Every year I get caught out by book week. This year the kids are right into planning for it and I'll be stuck in a shopping centre for two hours this afternoon while Mrs Moops is at a playcentre birthday (why oh why hasn't her friend group grown out of those?!)

Anyhoo, this year we have a plan:

Oobiwoo - the book from the Hitchhikers Guide. He has memorised the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation song 'share and enjoy' and planned out the design. I'll make it from coreflute like a sandwich board type of thing.

Mrs Moops - Annabeth from Percy Jackson - super easy. Jeans, baseball cap, bottle of water and a 'Camp Halfblood' T Shirt.

Anybody else planning a way in advance?

I'm pretty excited!

Middle of next term.

Last two years Oobiwoo went as Voldemort, wearing a black cape (one of my questionable teenage fashion choices) over his school uniform. I'm pleased he is a bit more engaged this year.

Can't remember the latest plan just now. If I'm feeling strong tomorrow, I'll ask!

Dd's school had their book character parade already.....she went as cinderella this year.....I feel annoyed when kids dress up from movies or games. There were some kids dressed as harlequin (or whatever the spelling)....a crayon.....books and movies don't bother me.....anyway.....

They are very strict at our school - or so my kids tell me. We still have kids coming as movie characters, but I figure that is sometimes because the parents don't have capacity to do more than raid the dress up box. Mrs Moops cheated a bit last year and had a ragged blossom outfit that looked like a ballerina if she left off the hat. And she did. Grrrr.
