One of THOSE days

Postby Mummy woo! » Wed Apr 20, 2016 12:09 pm

Over tired grumpy children fighting like possums in heat all morning. Trying to get them out the door to break up the whatever-the-heck-it-is and they were so rude about getting in the car I have sent them back to their bedrooms.

Aaaarrrggghhhhh!!!!

It is amazing how as they get older they are able to recognise the toddler-like behaviour, talk about it and how it isn't working for anyone, but then ten seconds later be right back at it. I'm hopeful this represents modest progress but the way they are carrying on they might not make it to adulthood for me to know for sure!

Hugs. I hear you....maybe my more than occasional forays into toddler-like behaviour don't always set the best example....but that's probably more my issue

Must have been the day for it, mine were fighting like cats and dogs this morning too. Hope the rest of your day was better!

Give me back the days where they were newborns, much easier!

I think part of the problem might have been me - AF arrived this week and I haven't been sleeping well. They have been ratty all week though.

Had an interesting conversation with Oobiwoo about his temper though - I reminded him that he doesn't yell at his friends or teachers when he is frustrated, so he must be amble to control it. So why does he yell at me? He's thinking about it!

Hugs and virtual chocolate for AF. I was a disgrace to the adult world on Wednesday morning and actually realised it must be PMS. Which is ununsual for me as I usually only realise in hindsight

And please tell me what Oobiwoo says. If I'm being very honest, my colleagues probably wouldn't recognise me from my behaviour at home. But really, there's very little to get worked up about there compared to being at home  So it seems there's some sort of filter that switches on pretty early if our children can be so wonderful at school.

My DS1 is a delight at school. At home, he is a short tempered turdburger.

MW did your day get better?

It only got better when I let them have some screen time - less harmful to cook their brains than to throttle them!

Yesterday more craziness. And today trying to pack to go away while listening to endless complaints about why we need to pack clean undies for each day of the trip.
