It's reassuring when one attends an event with a babe in arms and at least 15 people go out if their way to offer a chair/ encourage bfing/ say they are glad to see a baby there / make mum and bub feel explicitly welcome.

It will be a great day when someone feeding a newborn at an event is entirely unremarkable, but I'll settle for welcoming and encouraging comments and actions in the meantime :)

I am one of those weirdos who see a mum and baby, swoop down on them with a chair and a hot tea. I then offer to hold (and sniff) their baby so mum can have her tea while it is hot.

Yep. This is why I will never leave ABA.

Lovely! We did an ABA stall this morning at the schools baby and kids market.

I had a mum of a three month old do her first feed in public - she sat down behind our stall and I promised to sort out anyone who looked sideways at her :-D 8)

Glad you were looked after penguin. Even when breastfeeding in public becomes unremarkable it will still be nice to get a chair and a drink for a new mum.
It's OK Pluto, I'm not a planet either

A helpful friend to carry bags and offer good company always helps too.

DD1's reputation preceded me though.

"This is Penguin"
"Hi Penguin, nice to meet you"
Penguin: "nice to meet you too." Small talk in which Penguin Chick'a name gets mentioned.
"Oh, you're Penguin Chick's mum? I know all about her, we hear about Penguin Chick all the time"

Me too! At 3am last Helpline shift, I may have even asked a mother to hold her 3do baby closer to the phone so I could sniff her
