Brilliant.

I am on quite a few facebook pages and blogs. I feel there are some that are extremely inflammatory (The Alpha Parent) and despite having a few decent bits of info in them, they are quite damaging to breastfeeding advocacy. The general gist is that women who don't breastfeed are lazy  There is no thought about bigger systemic problems like normalising bf socially, access to information and support or quality health professionals. When there is a brief nod to those things the overiding philosophy from TAP is that women have not tried hard enough to overcome them.

Yet there are some excellent, supportive pages out there like the Skeptical Mother, Best for Babes, Amy West and the Analytical Armadillo. These pages provide info without the judgment and recognise that there are barriers in place. Amy West is particularly good at framing things.
sorry for my ramble. I am often puzzled as to what the best way of activism for breastfeeding is.
