On the hcg question....normally a non-pregnant woman has no detectable hcg.
You could have 'low' hcg because of a very early pregnancy, and the hcg levels increase rapidly over a period of days and weeks if the pregnancy is continuing.
On the ultrasound question, you should ask your doctor about it - quite likely it's nothing to worry about.
Did you have hcg levels measured ? What was the number ?
