The national ENDIA Study seeks pregnant women (or their partners or older children) who are living with type 1 diabetes to help us answer this question.
• Pregnant women with type 1 diabetes
• Men with type 1 diabetes whose partner is pregnant
• Children with type 1 diabetes whose mother is pregnant
• Babies aged up to 6 months of age whose mother, father or sibling have type 1 diabetes
Participation involves regular follow-up of the baby and family including questionnaires and collection of samples such as saliva and skin swabs. There is a regional program so families can participate from anywhere in Australia. Families receive $20 for each visit attended. Home visiting is offered where necessary.
