Trying to relactate after 13 months

Post by transformed » Thu Nov 22, 2012 7:49 pm

I figure that because I did have milk, still have a teensy amount, and women who have never lactated can do this, then surely I can too...

Stopped breastfeeding at 2 wks for several reasons, all of which have been sorted now. She's 14 mo, and I want to breastfeed her. I put this off for ages, thinking it wouldn't be possible and that it would be stupid to even try.

Hi transformed

Yes, you can do this! It won't be easy, but I think you know that.

Have you got hold of an ABA booklet called 'relactation and adoptive breastfeeding'? As well, call the helpline and get along to an ABA meeting in your area to get information and support specific to your situation.

And let us know how you are going - we make a great cheer squad!

Good luck and I look forward to reading how it goes, I have just decided to begin feeding my baby again who is 11 weeks ( stopped when she was 3 ) i thought at the time I was making the right choice but now I don't think I did. I really hope it all works out for you
