I know it put a big :-D on my face too!

That sounds great about the cleaning of the SNS.

Lu the LC visit didnt actually cost anything. She is in Coffs every Tuesday from 9am - 12.30pm. You dont need a referral or appt time - just go between those hrs whenever bub is due for a feed. She is patient and a lovely lady. Also told me to disregard most of what GBH had told me - how bad is that!!!

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days...what great news though. Sounds like you've got some great help from the LC. Hopefully you're over the bumpiest bit of the journey. When will you get the pump?? and yay that someone could help you learn how to hand express, it really is very useful when relactating.

PS the "old SNS" that you have is probably and old ABA Supply line. It works on the same principle as the SNS but they have not been sold for at least a decade!

Sorry its been awhile since ive updated - been a little busy.

Im still using the same pump. Ive just gone and got a double kit for the Medela Symphony and have now just been told by my closest ABA lady that she only has the Ameda one and she doesnt know if my Medela kit will work in it... Does anyone know if it does???

Sometimes when i express ill get 5mls in total and other times i get 20mls in total so its definitly improving. Expressing time will be so much easier if i can get a Medela Symphony. Im still expressing 2hrly with a 6hr break overnight.

Ive ordered the Medela SNS but that could take up to 2wks to arrive so thats it for now i guess. Still putting Addison to breast as frequently as possible though the day and evening.

I suspect that you're going to find that the Ameda and Symphony kits are different. You might be able to use the bottles, but I'm not sure :(

Don't fancy a drive to Brisbane? Some Symphony pumps sitting right here! :-D

I have family coming down from Brisbane for Addisons Christening this weekend and if im able to organise delivery to their house thye could bring it down for me.

Im not sure if thats possible though.

So 3 of Addisons feeds yesterday she sucked from me for a good 10mins each side (happily!).
She would suck suck suck then started the suck swallow suck swallow! I think my milk is increasing more than what the pump is giving me (alot more).
Those 3 times once she was done i offered her the bottle and she has left around 50mls each time. She normally leaves nothing!
Today weve done the same thing and i plan on doing it for all her feeds now :D

She was weighed Tuesday just gone and i will take her back this Tuesday to make sure she isnt losing any weight but i dont think she is. Her wet nappies are the same and her poo nappies are changing.

Is this too good to be true! It feels like weve turned the hardest corner!

Hi sammi, I'm not round here much anymore but have just read about your relaxation thus far. It sounds like you are going great guns! :-D

I didn't start Expressing or BF my DD until many weeks after her birth and when I first started pumping I like you, was lucky to get a mL or 2. I've been on the journey you are at right now, expressing almost constantly, working on getting bub back to the breast etc. I remember how incredibly exhausting that time in my life was, and commend you for pressing on :)

In my case, we were able to continue on successfully BF and mixed feeding BM and ABM for almost 9mths. If our situation were different (I share custody of the kids and had to return to work) I reckon we would have been able to eventually ditch the bottles altogether and fully breastfeed for as long as we were both happy to.

So yes, it IS worth all the hard work, and definitely IS possible! You are doing an AMAZING job, no matter what happens in the future. It sounds like this is really important to you, and you have a great attitude about it all.. Go you good thing!
Patience.. It's what parents have when there are witnesses ;)
