The economic value of breastmilk

Post by Mummy Latte » Sun Nov 16, 2014 10:02 am

This is the first time I've seen this sort of article in Australian media. Hooray for someone calling it out. ... 1mmjf.html

I heard Julie Smith speak on her work at Liquid Gold. It really is a vastly under-appreciated aspect of infant feeding.

It's a well written article. Great to see an article like this in a main stream newspaper.

Wow. What a great article!
I remember one of the older editions of The politics of breastfeeding by Gabrielle Palmer, where there were some stats on the economic value of breastmilk in Australia. They were 1990s figures, and it worked out to about $50 per litre. I think the figures may have come from Julie Smith. Unfortunately, it's not a mainstream book, unlike this article.
