Re: Facebook statuses you're not going to actually post

Too many shattered dreams. Too hard to cope with. Susie, you can't do that when you live off thin air. I've been told forced contraception is what I need. People hate the poor, no matter how hard we work. Sorry, I didn't mean to make light of your situation. And I think people pick on "easy targets...

Sounds good Fellare.

Re: Food for New Year's

We have no traditional food, but the kids have requested a pavlova.

We have a lot of passionfruit from our garden, and the thought of a pav drizzled with passionfruit is making my mouth water :D

Re: new years resolution 2015

Mine will be to encourage (make) my 10yo DS do homework. Normally I expect a child to be self motivated & organise himself, but DS has zero interest in school or homework. His last report card was pretty dreadful. So I'll be doing my best to ensure he gets the basics because the following year he'll...

Re: Grrr Rum Balls

All good.

I left the mixture in the fridge overnight, and it firmed up really well.

So now half have been rolled in coconut, and the other half dipped in melted chocolate.

And hopefully they'll taste as fantastic as they look :-)

Re: Grrr Rum Balls

Yes, I've put the mixture in the fridge for 1/2 hour to let it thicken up prior to shaping into balls.

Grrr Rum Balls

I am making rum balls for the first time. When I form the mixture into balls they slowly lose their shape and sink down until they're more like discs. The weather is hot & humid which may be contributing to it. I've tried adding more coconut but the mixture is so stiff & hard to stir. Any advice gra...
