Fast letdown

Is there a way to slow down the letdown? My letdowns cause my lo to choke/gag and unlatch every time. Then there is a fountain flowing that can't be turned off, creating a mess and wasting precious breastmilk. DS can't latch back on until the flow stops and I dry the nipple a bit... Help!

Re: PPROM...

Hi everyone! :smt006 Lachy is 5 weeks old now (due date was 3 days ago!) and we've spent 4 of the last 5 weeks in hospital. We are finally home now and both on the mend! My wound became very infected causing me to get blood poisoning and Lachy ended up catching RSV from the hospital. He is definitel...

Re: PPROM...

Lachlan George born, 4.5 weeks early, at 9:27pm on June 17th by emergency cesarean after 7 hours of labor failed to do much. He is being kept in SCBU but is doing really well. I will write more later when I have time! :) Edited to correct the prematurity figure! (Lachey was 4.5 weeks early, not 5.5....

Re: Blessing way for chiggins

Thank you, beautiful ladies.
I have a week and a half to wait until my ob will induce me... and my family can't come and stay as Ronald McDonald house won't house us until after bubs is born. It's going to be tough but I'm coping ok for now. xx

Re: Facebook statuses you're not going to actually post

The thing is....they've been telling people that we've been stopping them from seeing the kids Argh...how frustrating! Often people will see through the lies and realise that its not you, but them. Its manipulation and mind games...try not to let it get you down. Its what people like that want. I h...

Re: PPROM...

How old are they? It can be a hit and miss thing....but they may also find it exciting to talk to mummy through a computer/tablet...my two (3 and 4yo) love to video call most of the time. They are 2.5 years and 15 months. We've chatted on the phone with no problems... might give video call a try pe...

Re: Facebook statuses you're not going to actually post

After spending a weekend away for DH's work conference and having to be somewhat around BIL and SIL (BIL and DH work for the same company but different stores - BIL started after DH)......and watching them being pally with DH's cousin's family (her 3 kids) and SIL not even acknowledging our kids......

Re: PPROM...

Oh chiggins, thinking of you! FWIW, I was born at 35weeks gestation back in the 80's and even though I was 5lb 6.5oz born, I wasn't in NICU or anything... Thinking of you and hoping bubs is born safely and healthily. You're little ones will be having a ball and hopefully you will get to see them so...

Re: Facebook statuses you're not going to actually post

Sooooo frustrating.... I'm STILL putting the kids to bed. So I asked DH to simply finish putting the dinner together (we normally all eat together but had a late lunch today).... It's 8.30pm. His response??? I don't know how.., 1st it's not rocket science and I've offered to teach you multiple time...

Re: PPROM...

RFDS is a wonderful thing. My DS1 was born at 35+1. He was 2.528kg. He spent less than 2 hours in the Special Care Nursery (because DH marched up there to explain that he needed to be breastfed NAO!) and didn't need any respiratory support. (I had had one corticosteroid shot less than 24hrs before ...

PPROM...

My waters broke yesterday morning at 1:30 (34+6) so I was flown to the WCH via RFDS (who were just so amazing!) Just waiting to see if labour will start now...
Feeling quite emotional at the moment...think it could be because I miss my other two babies who are back home.

Re: Migraines

DH just started getting them two years ago - starting with visual disturbance. Helpful first doctor says 'I don't think it is a stroke but have a referral for a cat scan if it doesn't get better'!! A more helpful doctor suggested a very strong coffee immediately at onset - the coffee makes the bloo...
