Re: Hi

Hi and welcome! I honestly can't remember how to get the lillipie counter things to work, I think I just tried a few and pasted the code in until I got something I liked. I took mine off after I weaned so now I'm boring!

Re: Ready for the potty?

Yeah we're not planning on pushing things. I saw 'no cry potting training solution' in the bargain bin six months ago and thought, 'why not?' So I know what 'signs of readiness' to look out for. She has some of them, like telling us when she does a poo. But I don't think she has any concept of feeli...

Re: How do I stop catching my children's colds.

You have my sympathies. My husband went through this a few months back, he had back to back colds for like two months. He tried everything - vitamin C, expensive 'immune' herbal supplements, he quit swimming and swapped back to jogging (convinced the hot moist air was making it more likely for him t...

Re: Ready for the potty?

I think it's just another pretend play game. We had one more episode of wanting to sit on the 'big potty' without her nappy on, still no deposits, she just wanted to do the ritual parts like 'wiping the poo' and flushing afterward. She narrated the play by saying she'd done poo and wee (when she had...

Ready for the potty?

DD will be 2 in September and we haven't really thought about potty training - figured we'd start thinking about it in the summer. We do have a few little potties and one training toilet seat that she sometimes plays with but usually shows zero interest. In the last few weeks she's started telling u...

Re: Dinner tonight was....

an ethical nightmare!! Why is it so hard to buy non-farmed sustainably caught local fish???? Ended up having a very delicious meal of frozen, imported, farmed barramundi :? , with homemade oven baked chips and steamed veg. Delicious but my conscious hurts  Back when I did my research about sus...

Re: Dinner time shenanigans

Not sure how old your little ones are, but we struggle with this on and off with DD who's almost 2. We try to follow the 'we choose the food, she chooses how much' approach, but we cheat a bit in that sometimes I give her a choice of what goes on her plate ('baked beans or tuna today?'), and we alwa...

Re: How did you build up your milk stash?

I reckon what's best is whatever works for you! Generally boobs make a bit more milk in the morning, so if you're going for efficiency than you might get a bit more bang for your buck in the morning. Personally I found I got more traction if I waited a bit after a feed before expressing. But really,...

Re: I hate this

Big hugs. There's a big difference between being concerned and accusing someone. If there's a perfectly innocent reason he's leaving for work 3 hours early, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with you asking, out of curiousity, why he left so early this morning. If he asks you why you want to kno...

Any options when the clothes are still on the toddler, before she goes running around the house spreading the joy on the furniture?

Re: Booby shapes

I've only had the one, and didn't grow much when bf, from a border C/D to a solid D, really only half a size. 8 months after weaning I'm still a D but definitely not as full as before bfing. DH says he doesn't notice (bless him) but I sure do! The metric for me is that before bf I used to be able to...

Sticky rice

Sometimes I make short-grain 'sticky rice', and boy does it stick. All over DD's hands, face, lap, shirt, pants, hair, high chair and floor. Is there a trick to cleaning it up easily? Especially from clothes, where it sometimes feels like little pellets of glue that absolutely refuse to stick to the...
