Re: Large nipples - not able to breastfeed

If I don’t have an older one to look after then yes we can keep going on the supply line on every feed.. and I would also like to admit, I also felt an instant relief when my DH gave the bottle feed last night! I wonder would a mix of bottle and breasts work? I can see DS is improving on his suckle ...

Large nipples - not able to breastfeed

Hi all, My son is 14 days old and we have been struggling with bf since day 3. Tongue tie (snip last weeek), > 10% weight loss, jaundice, cracked nipples. And now that we are home and bubba is slowly gaining weight with a SNS top up, latch now no longer hurt and no new cracks in nipples, today I was...

Hi, Some of you may know that I am a EP mum and it is only recently that I weaned from my pump :) we started the EP journey as my DD failed to latch in the first week in the hospital, both of my nipples were badly damaged and I was told to "rest" and bottle feed ebm until they were healed. DD got ni...

Re: Exclusively expressing with a toddler at home

Hi Colleen, I exclusively pumped for my first until she was 25 months. Now still TTCing, and the thought of trying to Nurse again (may fail again) or just go straight to pumping. I have successfully EP my first so I know I can do it, however how do u manage your other kids when you pump? Could you s...

Re: Exclusive Expressing Support

Hello fellow EE mums :) Some of you may know I have pumped for my DD since birth and she is now turning 2 next month  We had a terrible breastfeeding start at the beginning which resulted in me pumping full time. A very close friend of ours delivered recently and had a brilliant breastfeeding s...

Re: Trying to wean DD off ebm at 21 months

Well done on expressing for so long, that is an amazing achievement! I am no expert at this, but I wonder if at home you are trying to get rid of two things at once, the bottle and the bm. I wonder what would happen if you offered the breast milk in a cup, that is, "weaned" off the bottle first, wh...

Trying to wean DD off ebm at 21 months

Hello ladies, I need some help. I exclusively pump and has been feeding my DD ebm since she was a week old. DD never had formula and she had her first cup of soya milk she was 18 months at childcare. Re: What are the reasons to continue

I was about to start a new topic and found that you have written everything I was going to say. I am in a similar situation as you, my DD is 19 months and every time I thought about stopping, my DD gets sick, she doesn't eat much except ebm so I have a reason to keep going. I had a talk with my husb...

Thank you so much ladies. I think getting in touch with the local ABA group before bub is born is a good plan. How do I go about doing it? Another problem I had at the beginning was I didn't know about ABA, and most of the people around me formula fed their babies so my help only came from my LC, mi...

EP mum - worried BF will not work again for next bub

Hi all, I am an exclusively pumping mum since my 17 months old was a few weeks old. DH and I are now planning for our 2nd child, however bf problem is always on my mind, I am hoping I can bf this time as we aren't planning to have more children. I would like to share some of the problems and the thi...

I am definitely not switching my DD to formula as I know many mums that ebf have healthy children. I guess my concern would be what type of solid do you feed your little one each day to ensure they eat enough iron? I have looked it up and it is mention that child from 12 months needs 7mg of iron. An...
