Re: Breastfeeding & Fertility

Hi there! Everyone is different but here is my experience... My daughter fed roughly every 2 hours around the clock from birth. At 19 months I couldn't cope with the nighttime feeds anymore so night weaned her. About a month later I also cut her day feeds down to 3 (morning, nap and bedtime). My cyc...

Re: low supply one side

Hi there, how are things going now? Have you tried calling the helpline for some tailored advice? You're doing the basics right by feeding and pumping frequently. There are some articles on the ABA website that might have some good tips. The low supply and expressing ones. Things like skin to skin, ...

Re: Nipple flicking

Hi there! Sorry no one has gotten back to you yet. How are things going now? It's awful when you're feeding in pain, I have been there! My 3rd baby needed her TT released twice plus she needed some bodywork done (chiro and osteo). Was your daughter assessed by an IBCLC prior to the treatment? It mig...

Re: Still going...

Wow that's amazing! I guess it is seen as pretty unusual in our society. But if you're ok with it then... if it ain't broke don't fix it! DD is still feeding to sleep at night, she turned 4 in March. I'm starting to get aversion, and just in the last few nights I don't know what she's doing but it k...

Re: Angry feeder

Hi Monty! You've just described my first baby at that age! He went through an aggressive feeding stage where he got very impatient for the let down and would pull on my nipple while grunting. He was especially impatient on the left side which didn't let down or flow as easily as the right. Luckily i...

Re: Breastfeeding after cutting lip and tongue ties

Well done for getting this far, that sounds rough. DD2 had a TT and ULT lasered at a week old and then again at 5 weeks. It was a posterior TT and they didn't remove enough the first time. Things improved after the 2nd treatment but still weren't perfect (she was still clicking when she fed and my n...

Re: Lazy new born baby blues! Will not feed!

Babies aren't "lazy", if they're not sucking there is a reason (and there are lots of possible reasons). They can be affected by drugs during labour (I believe my first baby was affected by the epidural I had, he was sleepy for the first 12 weeks!), and Caesarian babies can sometimes need a bit more...

Re: How can I help him gain weight?

Hi Merry, have you tried calling the helpline or spoken to anyone else about it? It sounds like possibly the tongue tie might still be affecting things. In which case it may be better to see a health professional in person, one who is experienced with breastfeeding and TT (a GP or IBCLC?). If you ca...

Re: WHO Baby Two :-)

Congratulations!! I loved it when DD developed breastfeeding vocabulary too. And to think that long before I had kids I thought that "if they can ask for it they're too old!"  Little did I know that I would be feeding a WHO baby too (and a double WHO baby, DD is 4 next month and still ...
