Re: Frantic after feeding

Congratulations on your beautiful boy. The link Jentbt85 posted is good - it sounds like you already know about signs your baby is getting enough, and I hope you find this reassuring. When you say he's frantic, do you find there is something that does settle him? Some babies really enjoy sucking and...

Re: Breastfeeding after feeding tube

I did - about seven weeks with an NG tube, five weeks with a bottle, then breastfed. It depends on the underlying issue, and the baby. Friends have a baby who has been fed by NG tube for around six months. Baby has low muscle tone and swallowing difficulties, so it's not clear when he will be up to ...

Re: interesting birth article

My DH sent it to me and I nearly posted it on social media, but that's not always the best venue for nuance. I agree - birth is over moralised. It's actually weird and nonsensical. There's a radical feminist argument I could make about how biology brings women into direct conflict with the western i...

yes they can. Heaps of people manage to do those things.
And? Who cares? My limits are not where I might have once thought or hoped or even promised other people. I am still deserving of love and forgiveness and so are you.

Re: What if?

I saw Penguin today. She is home, her DH is taking care of her, their freezer is full. She is limiting phone time because it's a bit overwhelming at times. If she doesn't come on before then, I'll let her know you're all thinking of he next time I see her.

Do you think you'd be allowed to have yummy homebaked biscuits if I sent them to you?
Sorry I have been a bad forummer.

I think baked goods are probably fine. Maybe don't send your expensive plastic ware. No plastic bags.

Re: trip to hospital

I would want some follow-up for an unexplained and out of the ordinary event like that, but I agree hospital is often more trouble than it's worth when the immediate crisis has passed. Could you check in with your GP for a debrief/review of any pathology results s/he can get hold of/ideas about what...

Re: Sleep

Yes, there is light. It's so personality driven. My DS who is the same age as your DS goes to sleep by himself most nights - as in I can take him to bed, suggest he lies down, say goodnight and leave. I find this really surreal because his big sister still needs someone with her.

Re: Cloth nappies

Okay so call me obsessive, but my (hopefully) last question for this forum on cloth nappies is... For breastfed poos, double gussets are useful to help prevent poo explosions, How useful/important is this post 6 months? Wondering if I should get gusseted covers or if non-gusseted ones will be okay....

Re: Panicking - indulge me

These are all understandable fears and she could have an awful first day - it has happened. I guess you will find out at 3 o'clock and take it from there.

She will come home at the end of the day and has sensitive and protective parents, which is pretty much the jackpot for any small child.

People who shout from cars never have anything good to say.

I've had people tell me I had my hands full when I had one baby in a baby carrier - as I pointed out, I actually had both hands free!

Do you want me to try some and see if I can work it out?

Sometimes they need time to cool to firm up?
