Re: help me i'm not good at anything

Hugs. It sounds as though you're having a very tough time there. It sounds as though you're blaming yourself for his behaviour and although all relationships are a two way street, it isn't cool to be putting someone down as it sounds like you're being put down. You're not lousy. You're a Mum and, li...

Re: Car seat battles

Honestly? I used brute force to get my kids into the car seat - it is important that they are safe whilst travelling in the car, and we need to travel, so in they go. I found a hand across the hips to push that part down whilst using the other one to get the straps on was best. Aside from my method ...

Re: Almost 6 years

Oh Delly, I remember it so clearly. Hugs to you - look after yourself and try to take things slowly (well, as slowly as you can with your little ones)

Re: Is this normal?

I get a really weird feeling that sounds a bit like that when I'm really really tired. I call it the squiggles but it is kind of like my muscles can't relax or something. Really weird and very annoying. The only think I can do to get rid of it is move about or lie down.

Re: Horrible dream

Hugs Lu, what a horrible experience. I found that during pregnancy I had much more vivid dreams/nightmares than when not pregnant. They were often to do with the baby or our family and seemed so real. Some were funny but a lot weren't. I hope you don't have any more like that.

Re: Why does my LO only latch correctly for second half of f

Hi, I'm jumping in a little late here, sorry. I've probably read it all a little too quickly but I hope I understand that his latch is bad at first and then improves later in the feed/on the other breast? One thing that comes to mind is that whether he is using the bad latch in order to stimulate a ...

Re: Start using formula?

Its a tricky situation knowing when/if to give a bottle "in preparation". Do you need bub to be used to a bottle for other situations or is it just the one night? My experience of leaving my 3 month old with my Mum for a wedding was that although she had taken a bottle a couple of times for her Dad,...

Re: Getting Cold Feet. Am I crazy??

I'm gonna go a little against the grain and say don't go crazy with the 15 "free" hours... I overcommitted myself when Dd1 went to 2 day/week preschool and I was child free. Couldn't figure out where all my free time went! Facing the same challenge next year with DD1 and DS at school and DD2 startin...

Re: Sewing Help!

Can't help with sewing but perhaps can with the maths? You just need to work out the ratio you are reducing/increasing by. So say you have a cape in a triangle with sides a = 5, b = 6, c = 7 (it probably isn't a triangle but it doesn't matter). Then you work out you need to reduce side a to 3. To ke...

If it is just you travelling (?) it might be worth looking into the train? Certainly a taxi will cost you a fortune. If you're bringing the family then car hire?

I'll just be there for the Saturday day/evening - at least that is the plan if Little Miss 2 cooperates and doesn't give Daddy too hard a time between now and then!

Just catching up on this DigDig.

I agree with everyone - it is devastating. Just that fact is reason enough to feel the way you do and I don't think you should feel bad for being sad.

Thinking of all of you and praying for a miracle.

Re: Present ideas

The Harry Potter idea would go down well with my 9 year old girl and her 9 year old friend (who is a boy) - they are constantly making potions etc. You can print off Gryffindor emblems and stuff from the net too. The other thing that has been a huge hit on the HP theme has been this material I bough...
