It's a good thought, but I'm ambivalent on the idea. On the one hand, it's a good idea to be explicitly welcoming to dads. Where breasts are concerned, I think men can find it hard to get involved without thinking they'll be accused of prurience, especially in the early days. Having a section with "...

I did hear some comment to the effect that the WA's policy of vaccinating the under 5's for free may be behind the higher-than expected number of reactions - that is the same proportion of kids are reacting (and there is always a proportion of the population who react with a fever), but since more k...

Beep Beep Beep oh heavy the coins keep coming out ... even the telephone hates me ... I wished we all lived a pastoral existence ... trees and flowers don't chill you out and go beep in your ear.

Sleep gives you cancer, man, everyone knows that.

Like, really quickly Vyv!

The first place to go if you want to make some sort of formal complaint is your state's anti-discrimination office, here's a handy link I just found for anti-discrimination bodies in each state: http://www.hreoc.gov.au/info_for_employers/contacts.html It's my understanding that if your baby had a ri...

I'll add to the chorus, if it's the one I've seen before it's particularly nasty and hard to get rid of. There's even a few variants of that around now. Unless you really know what you're doing computer-wise, it's unlikely you'll be able to fix it yourself, but you could have a go. I'll pm you some ...

Missyloo, I'm not able give you medical advice, you should talk to your doctor about that. I will say what I can, but I could be wrong. When I was going overseas to the US recently, I asked my GP about the H1N1 a week before I was due to leave and she reckoned that it probably wasn't worth it since ...

Whilst I think it's conceivable that a vaccine side-effect could somehow trigger shingles, I think it's highly unlikely. When you have a real infection, then your body is actually being damaged by the invading organism. In a viral infection, your body's own cells are hijacked to produce more copies ...

I posted in the smile thread.
I could find plenty of things that annoyed me, but I'd rather share the good things in the smile thread.

Shingles?! Sorry, but I can't see any way that any flu vaccine can give you shingles. Shingles is caused by the chickenpox virus. When you think you're over chickenpox, you might not realise that the virus is lying dormant in your spinal column. At some later time of your life it can reactivate and ...

Ok so.... The vaccine for the H1N1 (swine) flu is just like every other flu vaccine that's been used for the last few decades, except that it's for this particular pandemic flu virus. Normally the seasonal flu virus just circulates around the world, mutating into new strains. At any one time there a...

Yep, before puberty they can migrate freely up and down.
After puberty, they don't usually pop back up and if they do it can require medical intervention.
