Re: The 2017 declutter thread

Does sending two kids off to perth with about 12 large tubs of stuff count :) You can almost move around the house. Once we sort out the bike shed it will be great :)

Re: What if?

Hugs Penguin. I know quite a few people who freak at the dentist. You are definitely not alone there. MIL goes to a special dentist who deals with people who have trouble at the dentist. Does everything differently. So glad you managed, you did a great job getting through it. And I'd change dentist ...

Re: Your techniques to calm down fast

Hugs Jen, Sounds like you are having a really hard time. I must admit my kids do push my buttons deliberately sometimes too, but mostly not (and they are a lot older now, so much better, and usually not even here). I wonder if there is a respite service around that the govt can pay for, some sort of...

Re: Your techniques to calm down fast

The thing that helps me is knowing that they aren't trying to push my buttons. That they aren't actually trying to make me angry they are just trying to get through their day too. When I remember that they are probably having a hard time too I find it easier not to yell at them, and I'm more likely ...

brilliant, thanks MW, now I can fix DD2s pants that are just a little loose. I didn't bother before, because it wasn't bad enough.

Re: waist band of school skorts

How loose is slightly loose? I would either go with a safety pin, or the redo the elastic. Wouldn't be the first time I've had to do that. I find the best way is to test the elastic on the child and pull it a little tight. Other than that a draw string has been helpful :) but that would require cutt...

Re: I am not

Hi Lu One of the sucky things about having little kids is that you do seem to temporarily disappear. It is so common to just feel like a coat rack, tissue and food dispenser, and no longer a real person. Luckily as the kids grow up you do find a new version of you, and they actually see you as a per...

Re: Trainee BC & CE Chat Thread

I would just go for it and enrol. Nothing learnt is ever wasted :) Also all of the trainers will be coping with the conversion to the new course, and you should have no trouble with that as you have just completed the old one.
