Re: Pellyinthewilderness

Hello again.

Just so tired and flat lately. I'm not very good at staying in touch when I'm like this.

Sorry :(

PS Is that a new addition I see, ABL? Congratulations!

Re: Pellyinthewilderness

Hello there, forumites! mooki did indeed text me, and here I am. As Jenbt85 said, I had been fairly quiet on the forum for a while, and then my tablet died. I had no regular access to a home computer for a while, and by the time we got a laptop again, I'd got out of the habit of checking the forum. ...

Re: Trusting your child's instincts VS parental instinct

JennyD, that sounds very similar to what I do. Would you include chicken broth and the like as clear fluids? Unfortunately, DH is sick too. The good thing is that means he's taking a couple of days off so I won't have to wrangle multiple sick kids singlehandedly. DD is complaining of not feeling hun...

Re: Trusting your child's instincts VS parental instinct

Mummy woo!, all the food he's been eating IS recovery food, and he's still throwing it up. Normally I would have waited longer before letting him eat, but because he was so miserable about being hungry, I went against my (IMO) better judgement. MamaMagoO?, the withholding solids approach is somethin...

Trusting your child's instincts VS parental instinct

So, DS2 had gastro on Friday night. He threw up 6 or 7 times between 11pm and 4am. My personal instinct is to withhold everything but clear fluids after vomiting, for 24 hours in the case of adults and 12 or so in the case of children (NB breast milk counts as a clear fluid). After that, we move ont...

Re: 1962 called...

Ah yes. The good old, "Some people might think I'm being politically incorrect," line, implying that those people are obviously completely unreasonable.

Re: high school intake and travel

. Penguin, darn right the daughters of old girls get first dibs. A good friend of mine went to probably the snootiest girls' school in Perth. On open days, the students wore name tags with their mothers' names as well as their own  I think we might be talking about the same school. Lol The on...

Re: high school intake and travel

Coming in a bit late, for which I apologise. I think you mentioned in another thread some time ago that you were thinking about buying another house? Might it be worth looking for a less-than-flash house in the catchment area of a school you're happy with? It's great that your parents are in a posit...

Re: Dinner tonight was....

DS 2&3: pumpkin soup (the best you ever tasted) with buttered rolls, followed by ice cream and 100s & 1000s  Moi is having a large glass of red with cheese and crackers. If I don't eat any soup, there will be enough left for tomorrow's dinner. Seeing as we're having to get the sparky in tomorr...

Re: thoughts

Completely agree that the overwhelming majority of the *energy* going into this bub comes from you. Dads put in info, and, if we're lucky, support.

As for throwing food, may I suggest baby-led weaning? Better'n'sliced bread by a very long shot...
