Re: What is your fav music

this song, ui yia yia has become one of my favourites, not least because of the killer horn lines 3/4 of the way in. the video clip is rather entertaining also. it is an excellent dance around the loungeroom song.

Re: It's my birthday and I'll go commando if I want to

Thanks Esther, JMc and Mummy woo for the birthday wishes! I petitioned DP to pick us up after work, whereupon we got takeaway sushi and went home to watch spirited away. I love that movie! JMc - thanks for the pun! I was a wee bit cold, but it did end up being a bloody good day. ;) Mummy woo - that'...

It's my birthday and I'll go commando if I want to

Hopefully the subject line has given you fair warning that I'm about to share TMI, but my circumstances seemed so ridiculous that i thought I'd better share. So, it appears in the rush to get the 2yo on the bus this morning i neglected to wear a pad, and realised this halfway through the 50 min bus ...

thank you AnnaLi and everyone who has replied. This is my world of pain right now. I can't express my joy in reading this thread. I will go to a doctor, so rest assured I'm not using this forum for medical advice.... Although I am eyeing off the coconut oil and bs in the kitchen! But argh, haemorrho...

Re: Proper planning and preparation prevents piss poor perfo

I've just started using a new paper diary that I downloaded from the internet. It combines personal and work goals, with motivational quotes and regular prompts for reflection. I'm hoping this will help me stay on top of my parallel lives and not double book so often, or freak out when everything is...

This. Crotchet was so good for my self esteem in this way. Dancing and singing at the top of my lungs good too for clearing the pipes when you can't exercise. Also good group activity!

Re: Cloth nappies

^^ Double gusset is good for older since it helps contain the bigger wees of toddlers. And if you're looking for places to sell cloth nappies, some social media sites have specialised buy sell swap groups that you can join, often according to brand of nappy. ps. i have to share this: i was rereading...

Re: Gender neutral language and breastfeeding

thank you Andy pandy for sharing this article on the forum. It means a lot. Says Roberts, "I don't need every nursing class ever to say 'ladies and gentlemen,' but I do need the person at the front of the room I'm actually in to say 'ladies and gentleman.'" I really agree with this statement. It's o...

Re: Weaning the unweanable

oh wow, i could have written this post! i hear your fears about starting night weaning. it sounds like you have a good plan with hubby taking on settling at bedtime. please don't feel guilty about 'creating this situation' and not weaning sooner. boobing as a response to baby/ toddler/ child cues is...

Re: Escaping my brain

i'm sorry to hear you're feeling this way, i think i recognise that frustrated feeling too. The research by Brene Brown on the incredible similarities btw vulnerability and courage got me thinking about those moments when i lose my shit and then instantly feel ashamed that can't keep it together. Be...

The other for purely asthetic reasons is a chippy of the never ending story in green and red ink based on the actual story that says the book Sebastian was reading was written in red and green ink. It is very beautiful. Ohhh, that edition! It was special to me too, i had it on loan and overdue from...

Re: Issues with a partner not supporting breastfeeding?

hugs catnap, that sounds like a tough situation, and quite exasperating. I'm familiar with that argument, and really it wasn't until DD started going to childcare (and survive 9 hrs without boobs) that DP would take on single parenting opportunities. to be fair though, often DP hasn't been well enou...

Re: Early days and my support team appear to of given up.

Hello lioness, welcome and congrats on your new bub! Lots of good advice above, and very eloquently conveyed too! I had trouble breastfeeding in the beginning, with latching onto flat nipples and fairly small boobs, and spent a helluva time researching supply issues, and knocking back fenugreek caps...

Re: You know you're feeding a toddler when...

When the fondling and caressing of your other boob is so ardent and insistent (and the nipple twiddling! Oh god the twiddles!) that on reflection, the sum attention of all previous lovers pales in comparison and seem not to have been very demonstrative at all.
Sorry, that was probably tmi.
