Re: Supply Issues

Thanks for your reply MW. I'm on AB because I have Citrobacta Sepsis that won't go away! I had to have an emergency cesarean and because bubs and I had this horrible bacterial infection, it caused sinuses to form in my wound that have still not fully healed 12 weeks PP. so my wound has flared up big...

Re: Supply Issues

Have you tried expressing inbetween feeds? How's his nappies? Have you called the Helpline and talked to a breastfeeding counsellor? Massaging your breast to help milk? Are you eating and drinking enough? There's not enough time between feeds to express Nappies are less but still ok for now Haven't...

Supply Issues

I've been on antibiotics for a couple of days and my supply seems to have reduced significantly. DS is so fussy during and after feeds and I think he is still hungry. He gets frustrated at the breast because there is not much coming through. Let downs seem to be taking longer to happen too. Help! I ...

Haha...probably! I learnt this technique from a friend who is a lactation consultant.

Re: Help flanging out top lip

My middle child had this same problem. I used to use my thumb, just as he latched on, to flick out the top lip. It's hard to explain without showing you but...using your thumb and index finger, squeeze your breast near the nipple to get Bub to latch well, ensuring you get your thumb in bubs mouth ev...

Re: At my wits end!

Have you thought about seeing a lactation consultant for potential tongue or lip ties? We've seen a chiropractor who adjusted bub after she was born it helped heaps as she hated laying on her back she checked for tongue tie and she had one. My daughter had silent reflux from taking in too much air ...

Re: At my wits end!

Thanks for your reply mummymanda! Reflux is something I have considered. He doesn't seem to be suffering from it though. He rarely brings up vomit or anything. It takes quite a long time to burp him though! For sleeping, he likes to be swaddled tightly and has a dummy. Generally, he does settle quit...

Re: At my wits end!

Not sure why the Formula resulted in a night of horrors. He was just so unsettled for about 7 hours, only sleeping for 20 minutes at a time before waking up screaming. He took about 120 ml at around 10pm and then refused to settle. He hates the bottle so I had to basically force the teat to stay in ...

Re: At my wits end!

Thanks for your replies, ladies. DS has been feeding two hourly since leaving SCBU, back when he was just three weeks old (38 weeks gestation corrected age) and they stopped the NG ebm top ups. We are currently bed-sharing as I can't physically do it any other way. I'm just too exhausted. Should the...

At my wits end!

Can anyone help me...? DS is 2 months old (4 weeks corrected) and he is feeding 2 hourly around the clock...so from the end of feed/settling to the beginning of next feed is about 1-1.5 hours. I'm starting to feel like a zombie! I can't catch up on sleep during the day as I have two toddlers to look...

Re: breastfeeding protest in Argentina

I was breastfeeding in the middle of a shopping centre mall about a fortnight ago (on a bench seat in the middle of the main thoroughfare) and an older, very neatly dressed lady approached me and said that there was a breastfeeding room next to the female toilets and would it be more appropriate for...

Re: Fast letdown

Thanks for your replies. I've tried feeding whilst leaning back on my bed...doesn't really do much. I just get bathed in milk! I already need to hand express a bit from my breast before he latches because the areole is too firm for him to latch on properly. Last night and this morning, I expressed (...
